About Frisbee Selection and more

I skipped school today, and I feel quite bad about it.

I started off with a very slight fever — an after-effect of over-consumption of heaty food and under-consumption of water during CNY — yesterday morning, but had to force myself to go to school to attend the Raffles Middle East Programme (RMEP) briefing at 12pm.

From the briefing, I learnt that we’d get to, of course, know more about the Middle East culture, politics and other stuff, but what attracted me even more were the basic conversational Arabic lessons and belly dancing lessons. LOLLL.

There would also be rare opportunities for us to go on local and overseas immersion programmes and internships, but of course, there are limited spaces for these one-off events, so the chances of getting selected are quite slim. Anyway, most likely I will be signing up for the RMEP since I don’t know much about the Middle East and am interested to learn more. xD

Selection for Frisbee was held yesterday at 2.15pm. Although I wasn’t really in the pink of health, I think/hope I didn’t do too badly. But well, I think the chances of getting selected are quite low since they are only accepting 20+ out of the 200+ who signed up.

There were a total of 5 stations, namely, 800m run, 4 x 11m shuttle run, disc catching, disc throwing, and the actual gameplay.

For the 800m run (2 rounds round the tracks), my timing was 3 min 28 seconds. I hope my timing meets the requirements. For the 4×11m shuttle run, my timing was quite bad; 12.14 seconds. :\

For the catching, I think I did fairly well although I only caught 1 out of the 3 discs, but the J2s were shouting ‘nice try’ ’cause I did my best to catch the discs, LOL. As for the throwing, I didn’t do very well; although I could throw properly, my techniques aren’t up to standard.

For the actual gameplay, I have no idea how the J2s judged, but the main criterion was teamwork. I had lots of fun playing, so I seriously hope I can get into the CCA.

Last night, I received an email from Zaobao.com. I participated in a competition held by Zaobao.com recently, and LOL, I won! The prizes are a pair of Love Matters （幸福万岁） movie tickets and two packs of red packets. LOLLL. May Lady Luck smile on me for at least the whole of this year~

After 2 hours under the sun during the Frisbee selection, I guess my fever became worse. So I gulped down many mugs of water and decided to skip school today. LOLL. But after a long night’s sleep, I feel better now.
