Typical Singaporeans
August 24, 2008
Bishan Active, an integrated sports hub located at the big field in front of my flat, had its opening ceremony cum carnival this morning. After many many months of construction, it’s done, finally.
This morning, I got woken up by the emcees of the carnival. Argh, then I started mugging. I wanted to go down and join in the fun but couldn’t, because I had to study. Anyway, from what I could hear from where I was (at the 16th floor), it was very fun, and there were many activities, competitions, games and prizes.
There was a lucky draw at the end. So sad I couldn’t join in the fun. My parents did not go down because I did not want to go down. :( If not, we could have been lucky enough to win something.
But well, I was quite irritated by how kiasu Singaporeans are. Right after the winner of the first prize of the lucky draw was announced, distinctly you can see people leaving the centre stage radially LOL, back to their homes…
A minute later, there was only a few number of teenagers still hanging around to play basketball, etc. Zzz. People came for the carnival only. No one is interested in doing sports. =.=
Typical Singaporeans.
